Digital comes to an end.

Mon Aug 24, 2009, 12:07 PM
After the last digital images I submitted in june, I will now purely stick to analogue.

Mainly because of how much more crisp and brilliant a print made by me in the darkroom looks compared to a digital print, because of the thought process that goes into every image on the film, because of the slow manner of photographing and finally because of the friends I made in the darkroom lab.

From August onwards, I've mostly been working with my new medium format camera (some photos will be submitted tomorrow) and I enjoy the photographing work as well as the darkroom work as much as I never did enjoy photography.

From now on, I also fight the crappy scan lines of my shitty scanner. ;>

In other news, I've been through a lot of important experiences this summer, especially one intense and new type of relationship for me.

I'm going to be in an apprenticeship starting september which is somewhat related to film and darkrooms, although I still don't know to which extent, so I won't be having as much time for new prints and such.

I'll be seeing you,
~Jannis.

I use either a wide 28mm or a standard f1.8 50mm, no zoom lenses.

danke - dog-earred happiness has received virtually no views or favs...but it's one I like a lot ... for the humor mostly i guess ;) .... thanks for noticing.

and for what it's worth, i agree with your summation on film vs digital - there are many things great about digital .... but for quality and sharpness, nothing compares to film.
